Yamagata started drawing when she was 5 years old.
It used to be her little secret until she was encouraged to show her work in 2009.
Since then she has been consistently showing her works in galleries and art fairs in New York, Europe and Japan.
Yamagata uses vivid colors to paint her journeys to the better state.
All of the motifs and figures in her paintings are fighting to reach for the hopes and dreams in this cruel world.
She paints what has happened in her life both good and bad, suffering and adoring, and the act of painting the situation is the process of studying and translating the meaning of what has happened.
